Much as I love heros, they should stay away any form pvp except hero battle arena.

Please fix this asap Anet.

cmon ...gw team...be more sensible...how on earth can places like HA become some pve places, where craps build like heroway, where only 1-2 real players involved and messed around with stupid heroes....this is just ridiculous..HA is a serious pvp places like gvg ..so please do something about it

Well...if they'd let the heroes out, but keep the dual smite+vim nerf...no.

Not really, it was just knocked by GvG elitists and PvE'ers who couldn't make it there.

Have a lot of people saying HA isnt a high form of PvP but guess what? Its still the 2nd highest form lol, after GvG of course, and when you consider smurfs its not too far behind GvG. I mean how many PvP types are there? -GvG -HA -RA -TA -AB -HB.
I dont see how these heroes help new players at all, just so they dont have to spend time going LFG.

Why is it so "unfun" to play against a heroway team rather than a r3/6 vimway pug?

To all of the people saying they don't wanna fight AI cause you want to fight intelligent, fast reacting people...

What are heroes? = Fast reacting, intelligent....

Competing against heroes is like competing against semi-good players....

It's not like it won't be fun to play against heroes, even though they aren't real players they are really good AI's. Just think of terminator, in an ever changing world your opponents can change aswell. It's not like you are going to fight heroes all the time, only noobs, and noobs you beat as easy as you could beat a hero if you are such a good player. If people get to HoH with henchway or heroway it's because the leader is very good and the teams he's fighting is just crap. You faced a superior opponent, AI or human you still lost. Get back in there and learn how to win.

P.S. I'm not saying I own cause I don't that's just my 2 cents.

For the last time.. BECAUSE VIMWAY WERE REAL(!) PLAYERS! Okay, it might be a crap and ridiculously overestimated build, but at least you played versus humans! We don't want to see GW turn into a RTS, where you gotta move your heroes and order them to attack.. Do we?

Edit: Aun, they may be good AI's, but no one really cares about that.. And yes, they may all be free fame, but no one really cares.. It's just that everyone's wants to play PvP, and not fighting NPC's, cause that's what we have PvE for, huh?

Thumbs down Hero's in PVP - a major problem?

The purpose of this thread is to discuss the recent addition of Hero's in PVP.

Whilst Hero VS Hero battles are great and allow for a nice tactical 1v1 experience, Hero's passing over into other forms of PVP is beginning to present some big problems.

Whilst I agree that it's nice for unranked, newbie players to have a leg up into the competitive PVP environment, this is clearly not the way it should be done.

The biggest problem right now is Hero's Ascent, where a player can choose 3 Hero's, a couple of hench, and enter alone with nothing but AI to back them up.

Now I don't mind going up against the odd Henchway, it's "Free Fame" and it's usually a bunch of guys (3 or so) having a bit of fun entering with hench, that I can deal with.

However..

When every single match I play in two hours is 1 person and 5 henchman, it begins to get a little tiresome, when I'm entering 3-way maps with my team and I'm being ganked at the start by two henchways, just because I am the only team with real people in it.. it begins to get a little frustrating.

I play PVP to play against real people, that's where the challenge is, that's where the entertainment is. If I wanted to fight AI I'd play PVE, it's as simple as that.

The problem here isn't the challenge, I belong to an experienced guild, most of the players are rank 9 or higher and no longer play for fame, just for the fun of competing. 50 second matches against henchway, over and over again are not fun. The one real player on the team resigning because you happen to be a team of real people and not another henchway is not fun.

So there's the problem..

Now to solve it I suggest the henchman are removed from Hero's Ascent, that way people can still bring their Hero's, but they'll require two regular players also, just like the old henchway. The ability to enter alone and farm the first map VS other henchways to get a nice shiny rank 3 is not good. New players don't learn anything from it, especially when their only opponents are other hench teams.

So Anet, please remove the Henchman from Hero's Ascent, they're no longer required and only hurt the game. Either this or put a restriction on parties to have a minimum of 2/3 real players to enter the mission.

/mostly-agree

Maybe the solution is something other than No Henchmen, since heroes are only specific to Nightfall players. Players without NF wouldn't be able to take any heroes, so taking out the henchmen forces them to find 6/6 real humans.

But SOMETHING needs to be done just the same. As you said, the X/6 Real People Requirement would be a good idea. HA is PvP, not PvAI.

I'm not buying this crap of wanting to fight real humans. Henchmen have been part of HA since day 1, did any of you ever complain about it? How is fighting a non-living hench different from a hero? Unlike hench, hero is at least partly under human control. If you don't like seeing heroes used in HA, at least come up with a better reason, like AI's superfast reflex, then I'll agree with you.

Limit it to 2 AI per team. Ai can consist of a mix of heroes/henchmen or just one or another. That way if a team cant find their last 2 then they could bring in some AI.

It's a very good change overall. People who can't find groups because of rank elitism will finally be able to play HA.

Ok well... people find it boring playing againt heroes all the time even if they are just like real players it will never be the same thing, also eg if you give a Hero PD he will get every skill you use unless you use a 1/4 second cast maybe which is better than a real player which it shouldnt be. However PvP does stand for Player Vs Player afterall and an NPC isnt exactly a player.

Mr eX.. there is no real "rank elitism".. no matter what people say about that if they were eg rank8 they would try to play with people around there rank... its how it works, You play with people at your level and they play with people at theres its how things work good or not.

wrong hench have never really been a problem before because there was not have been so many hench teams with 8v8
during 6v6 hench teams started to increase but no where as many as there are now
it has nothing to do with them being too powerful, it just takes away to fun in doing pvp and is making a horrible first impression on nightfall pvp
